Ahead of its time - the Bauhaus cradle by Peter Keler 1922.
The design follows Wassily Kandinsky's color theory with the colors balu, red and yellow, which are assigned to the three basic shapes of circle, square and triangle. Naef produces this piece of contemporary history as a replica.
Geometry and color:
This collector's item is a replica of the historic cradle designed by Peter Keler in 1922 during his training at the Bauhaus. The small cradle corresponds to the original in color, shape and proportions and is carefully handcrafted to a scale of 1:7. The original from back then can be viewed today in the Bauhaus Museum Weimar, provided it is not on its way to one of the worldwide exhibitions. The cradle has only been produced by the Tecta company since the late 1970s.
Bauhaus replica
All eras require developments that provide lasting and comprehensive new impulses. At the beginning of the last century, the art education program of the legendary Bauhaus was a key driver of further development. The philosophy of interlocking artistic, manufacturing and social dimensions is regarded as a fundamental turning point towards the industrial design of the 20th century. In cooperation with the Bauhaus Archive in Berlin, Naef Spiele AG is the authorized manufacturer of these objects based on the original designs.
